Dublin’s All-Ireland final replay win over Kerry closed an.
After Jim Gavin’s side moved through the gears in the second half to see off the Kingdom sam Maguire will winter from the Liffey once again.
The question now is how the other counties can close the gap to the Dubs that is all-conquering.
At full-time on Saturday, the Sky Sports GAA panel ran the ruler over what the rivals of Dublin can perform.
The Dublin setup is to be honored, and the way is to be admired.
Those players that play for Dublin have the chance to provide their best, be the very best that they can be. They all need to offer the same assistance in ways, if counties will catch up.
In my own county I think that’s not happening. There’s so much more that we can and going to need to do.
By way of instance, Bryan Cullen, who Jim Gavin desired, and he left Leinster Rugby, a set up that was great to go to Dublin.
We’ve got an exceptional strength and conditioning man who abandoned Tyrone GAA, a place where he wished to be, to visit Ulster Rugby.
In many ways I feel that Dublin are amateur in ethos but specialist in training. Perhaps my own county at times, and many others, are now amateur in ethos and amateur.
Until we close the gap we could be looking at seven, eight.
I think counties will need to look at the way. The game has moved on. Whether you want it or not, then it is moved on, and there is so much more work.
What Jim did when he came in, he followed from Pat Gilroyhe acquired a culture and it’s a culture of an ultra competitive environment and also winning. It’s either his way or the highway.
We have seen they’re gone, whether they don’t do it Jim’s manner and a lot of talented individually brilliant players move within that panel. Collective-brilliant is exactly what he wants, maybe not that individual-brilliant.
John Costello is the chairman of the county board. He has an open door policy. If you’re a different county and wish to observe he’ll open the door and just how Dublin operate, go up and say’here is what we do you move off and take away it‘.
It is not like they’re hiding under the table and squirrelling everything out.
