William Carson has been banned for a few months after testing positive for a metabolite of violence.
However, his suspension had been backdated to start from April 4 – eight days following the sample taken from him was found to contain the banned substance benzoylecgonine.
His ban runs to October 4 – and as long as his riding licence has not expired and clearance is received by him from the British Horseracing Authority staff, he can resume his career.
Carson, the grandson of all both multiple Classic winner Willie Carson and five-time champion, received verification of his punishment at a BHA board hearing Thursday.
