Wales are covering balls in baby oil to get ready at the Rugby World Cup in Japan for humidity.
The method is just one of a number tried as Wales build-up for their Pool D championship opener against Georgia on Monday.
„We have been using wet chunks and been using baby oil onto them as well,“ said coach Warren Gatland.
„We have recorded them up too, and we’ve already been through that process in the [training] camps we had.“
Gatland says preparations in Switzerland and Turkey were meant to help his players cope with the conditions in Japan.
„We’ve been to two camps where one was in altitude and it was very sexy in Switzerland, then it was that the late 30s in Turkey,“ he explained.
„We’ve done as much as we possibly can in terms of handling the warmth.
„I believe the humidity is going to be a factor. With the those temperatures are going to drop to approximately 20 levels, although You’re able to observe how hot it is.
„It’s definitely going to be a whole great deal cooler, but the battle then will be the warmth and coping with a slippery ball. It’s how we cope with this.
„The players who have been to New Zealand may have undergone this. I come from Hamilton, it is incredibly humid there.
„We all know what it is like and we have players that have experienced a great deal of nighttime rollercoaster, so we feel we’ve trained well. We’re looking ahead “
After facing Georgia, Wales play Australia, Fiji and Uruguay as they challenge for the quarter-finals in Gatland’s final effort in charge.
