A trio of Wales internationals – Nia Jones, Bethan Dyke along with Georgia Rowe – have Fostered Severn Stars Before This 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague season.
Dyke and jones will arrive as fresh signings from Celtic Dragons whilst Rowe season.
Defender Jones includes 36 caps for Wales and was enjoying with the Welsh youth groups because she was 15.
„I really believe, with all the League becoming more and more competitive every season, a group such as Stars can start challenging the traditional top-four teams for a spot in the finals,“ stated the 27-year-old defender.
„They’ve progressed each season and have proven that on their day they could beat any team in the league. That to me shows a fantastic training environment, but also a strong attitude and ambition.
„I have been buddies and team-mates using Georgia and Beth for a number of years so I believe understanding one another’s strengths, activates and traits around training or matches could benefit us as a franchise.“
The trio of players all will join up with Stars‘ high-profile novice Liana Leota and will be functioning below the franchise’s newest head coach Melissa Bessell.
Bessell has taken over the reins in the franchise after the departure of Sam Bird and such as Leota, Rowe has experience of working of their head coach’s ways.
„I’m excited to be working with Melissa [Bessell] again,“ the shooter stated. „She was my first ever coach who introduced me to the match and taught me the fundamentals of being a player, a skilled and a team player.
„Melissa knows how to bring out my strengths and knows how to push me so I think it’s going to be good for me to be operating under her .“
Bessell herself is incredibly eager to be linking up with the trio of both Dyke, Jones and Rowe.
„Working together with these three again is a dream for me. I know what they’re capable of and them all well. Georgia has been performing and I’m looking forward to pushing at her and watching her develop more.
„Nia has to be one of the very passionate netballers I’ve had the joy of working together. It will be a spine-tingling and strong defensive screen this year. Vitality and nia attitude will improve what we have this season.
„Bethan is going to be one to see this season. Her movement is amazing to observe, along with her ability with the ball, will bring something special to Stars this year.“
