Bernd Leno says Arsenal have the caliber to score but believes building a good record is much important for the Gunners.
Arsenal have taken seven points from their four Premier League matches but have fought.
Leno was guilty of letting Christian Eriksen a tap during Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham later parrying a shot.
Harry Kane added a second but Arsenal fought back to secure a 2-2 draw at the Emirates, thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“We all know about our personality but also about the caliber,” said Leno. “The three players up top, with [Nicholas] Pepe also there today, we’ve got quality.
“They could score the big chances but also score from nothing and so the other teams constantly understand and need to bear in mind that we have a good deal of dangerous players and that gives us enormous confidence.
“You can see the game against Liverpool, we had just one or two chances to score if it was 0-0 so we could score with our caliber at the three.
“We can score against everyone but I feel that the key is always the equilibrium with the defence because in the end that is the most crucial thing.”
Leno thinks he reacted well to his mistake in the derby, which may have ended in success for Arsenal had Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ late goal never
“I think that the very first goal was a little bit unlucky,” he explained.
“I couldn’t grab the ball entirely and then I attempted to catch up but Eriksen scored, it had been unfortunate but that is the lifetime of a goalkeeper.
“For me it was like the team, I needed to rack up. It’s not a big problem simply because we surrendered a goal, I had to remain positive and that I thought after that I did a very good job.”
Leno believes Sunday’s result proves the side of Unai Emery may find the best of their opponents this time round although tottenham have finished above Arsenal in the previous 3 seasons.
“Now we showed we can play much better than these,” he explained following the game.
“To be honest in the first half of you saw the quality of Tottenham so again it’ll a quite difficult fight before the end of the season and then we’ll see who will be better”
