Jurgen Klopp believes Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been”refreshed” following a philosophical rest during the worldwide break.
Both Salah and Mane, on the back of a Liverpool year which didn’t end on June 1, had a summer taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations, for both Egypt and Senegal .
Mane went all the way into the final, meaning he reported back to instruction with Liverpool five times.
Neither have endured from a dip in form, together with the set scoring seven league goals between them , but with neither Egypt nor Senegal in activity in the latest round of international fittings, Salah and Mane remained in Liverpool, with Klopp offering them the remainder he feels that they deserved.
“It was ideal for the boys who did not have to go,” Klopp said. “I’m happy for them to go and perform for their national team, it’s a significant honor.
“However, I have said it 500 times, even if you find the boys who did not need to go this moment, for various reasons, then everything differs.
“To have five or six days off, they constantly train, however they do not need to worry here and perform proper football sessions.
“We might have trained since there were five players here, but then Sadio and Mo wouldn’t have got the time off they had.
“We now have another week with just two matches, which isn’t easy, but we can’t change that.
“They’re refreshed, that’s how it can be, and hopefully we could use this.”
There was a increase from the pre-match press conference before Saturday’s match with Newcastle of Klopp, with Klopp revealing goalkeeper Alisson’s situation has improved, however there isn’t any rush to bring the Brazilian back into the first-team fold.
“Alisson is advancing but we can’t place any pressure on him” Klopp added. “It was a severe injury in the calf but today it’s far better. It’s very good for him, good for us. We don’t know exactly [the return date].
“The target was always after the next global fracture he could be ready but we don’t know. Hopefully everything will be fine for the rest of the year”
