The Khalid Abdullah-owned Siskin is unbeaten in four starts so far, when landing the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last 37, most recently supplying his trainer Ger Lyons using a first Group One success in Ireland.
He was a possible to lock horns with Charlie Appleby’s 2000 Guineas Pinatubo on the second evening of Irish Champions Weekend, but connections have elected to keep their powder dry for the Middle Park a race sponsored by his owner.
Abdullah’s racing director Teddy Grimthorpe stated:“In the back of the heads the Middle Park was always the race we were looking at most of all.
„We simply feel he’s better suited sticking to six furlongs at this point.“
Off the back of Siskin’s lack, Paddy Power make Pinatubo their 1-2 favorite together with all the Aidan O’Brien-trained Futurity Stakes winner Armory, for its National Stakes next best.
