The tides may be changing for Gerald McCoy, but the Carolina Panthers‘ new acquisition wishes to be certain that the record is straight on his period as a Buccaneer.
On the latest edition of this RapSheet + Friends podcast, McCoy took a minute to peel back the curtain and passionately address his tenure with the Bucs, amidst various reports coming out in recent weeks regarding his relationship with the organization that introduced him on May 20 after nine decades of service.
„A lot of individuals believe that Idon’t know, turned my back on them or disrespected them. I’ll never do that. I’ll never say anything bad. I’ll never say anything negative about Tampa,“ McCoy told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. „It doesn’t matter how long was said about me personally; it will never be reciprocated because I know that company changed my entire life and also the time that I had there was great.
„The fans, all the coaches I experienced, each of the gamers I experienced, my whole time in Tampa was a joy and something I’ll never forget. But what happens for a reason and my period in Tampa just came to an end.“
McCoy went on to emphasise his thoughts on loyalty, stating that, while he will never forget his former team, he is a Carolina Panther now and that his new team will probably get“all of Gerald“ in every facet. He also made certain to highlight NFL greats such as Warren Sapp and Randy Moss as players that created a lasting legacy with their first team before leaving for greener pastures and maintaining their standing as game-changers.
McCoy may no longer be in Tampa, however, provided that the production remains there in Charlotte, he must have no problem crafting a brand new identity as a member of the Panthers‘ defensive front.
